25 years have passed since the first organized crews began playing reggae records under the name of the sound system in Polish clubs. This name comes from Jamaican history, where the first "reggae promotion tubes" appeared in the 50's. Apart from giving fun they also provided access to new music, promoted new talents and raised consciousness. Sound system scene has become an essential part of global reggae culture. It was no different in Poland, where in 1988-89 Joint Venture Sound System in Zgorzelec and Love Sen-C Music in Lublin hit their local clubs. Their special anniversary performances at ORF Green Stage (JVSS 16.08 - Dub Day, LSM 17.08 - Reggae Day) will be accompanied by sets of 4 leading foreign representatives of extremely big now sound system family. 25 years of ripping off the speakers!
