Page 1 of 2 After a short rest time of reflection and summary has come on 12th edition of Ostroda Reggae Festival, which ended on Monday morning. First of all we want to thank all the participants of the festival, who as always created a remarkable and already famous atmosphere that we all enjoy, making many immediately dreaming about the next edition...
The positive vibration was in the air during these four days, security forces did not report any major breach of the law. The Festival ran in a very calm way and probably the only inconvenience was manifested in cold nights and rain on the first afternoon. It was nice to see you all there at the Base - smiling, amused, listening and dancing.
In addition to traditional thanks to all companies, institutions and the media continuously supporting us, a special respect from our side should go to the Polish National TV Channel 2, who seriously promoted us in the air and honoured with their presence, as many of you already have noticed or still will notice at TVP2. Thanks to this, music and philosophy of reggae music have a chance to reach wider masses as well as the festival and the city of Ostróda can be better recognised. Due to Polish celebration of Jamaica’s 50th anniversary of the independence, for the first time we hosted the official representation of the Jamaican government - Jamaica's Ambassador in Berlin, Ms. Joy Wheeler (seen by many of you on stage) and representatives of the Jamaican Tourist Board, founders of flights to Jamaica to the happy winner in our contest of knowledge on Jamaica. They left surprised and enchanted by the festival. As every year we look forward to great support of our actions from the Jamaica's Honorary Consul in Poland, Ms. Maria Dembowska. Thank you, it is important to us!
We are very proud of this year's program. Everywhere we hear opinions that it was extremely powerful, colourful, and at a very high level. Special festival shows of Habakuk with Kalogathos or Paprika Korps with R.U.T.A. went very well. Previously unknown in Poland foreign bands like Dactah Chando, Laid Blak or 1-Stop Experience attracted many new fans and left delighted by warm welcome in Poland.
We have witnessed many international collaborations on stage proving multiculturalism and openness of the music. The biggest stars of the festival showed why they are called stars. The shows from the acts like Morgan Heritage or Fat Freddy's Drop will be written in gold in the history of Polish reggae festivals.
Always filled evening time, the Green Stage was the place of many great performances in all possible configurations and styles of reggae culture. Thursday's Young Polish Reggae Bands Contest brought the victory to a young group Bubble Chamber - we wish them success and we believe Ostróda will play an important role in their career.
You have never seen such a fabulous stage lights in Ostroda so far, a very well-received Yellow Stage was placed first time in the tent, the festival has improved the quality of catering. New location of University of Reggae and the festival cinema in the Ostróda’s amphitheater took them to another level. Saturday's screening of "Marley" attracted the highest audience in history of the University - about 2000 people!
We are pleased that so many of you participate in our educational activities - they are important to us and we want you to learn about the music in all its historical and social context.
We admit that the organization of this event for us is a kind of mission and we try not to take shortcuts and easy solutions, inviting only the most obvious performers. We want to be culture creators not just entertainment, promote new bands and put your attention to interesting trends. This has always been the nature of Ostróda and you seem to appreciate it, putting us up in your ratings.
Failure in update of our festival application made smartphones’ users sad and we consider it as one of the faults this year. Unexpected software problem prevented us from making it as useful as when it launched the market last year. In 2013 it will surely return in full glory.
Please always sent us your opinions about the festival - we are always very curious about your feelings. Let us develop the festival in the direction expected by you - our dear audience.
Thanks again to all of you, each and everyone. We hope to spend some nice time with you in Ostróda again. Your presence gives sense to our work. We look forward to seeing you next year!

jedyne na czym w tym roku się zawiodłam to brak informacji o zmianie programu! pamiętam, że w soundsystemowym namiocie była pewna drobna zmiana dotycząca Love Sen-c Music ale akurat to nie kolidowało z moimi planami, jeden z soundsystemów nie dojechał okej to też gdzieś tam usłyszałam i w sumie nie wiele mnie to obchodziło ale w planach był wspólny występ Dancehall masakry i Talliba & Sztossa, na którym bardzo mi zależało informacja o tym, że bracia wystąpią wcześniej dotarła do mnie kiedy chłopaki kończyli śpiewać i to w dodatku dowiedziałam się o tym nie od Mariki czy z facebooka tylko będąc w toi toiu i gdyby nie potrzeba fizjologiczna nieświadoma czekałabym potem na ich występ! na przyszły rok błagam wyraźne informacje od konferansjera/ki, info na facebooku i działająca aplikacja smartfonowa!
mimo to i tak ORF jest moim ukochanym i wg mnie najcudowniejszym, najbardziej klimatycznym festiwalem reggae w Polsce!

Szkoda, za na festiwalu muzyki reggae mielismy do wybory hamburgery, pizze, hotdogi, karkowke, brakowalo tylko jeszcze barszczu i flaczkow. Uwazam, ze polska kuchnia jest niesamowcie smaczna ale na takim festiwalu brakowalo bardziej egzotycznych potraw. Jezdze po festiwalach reggae po calej Europie i tylko w Ostrudzie kuchnia byla tak skromna i brakowalo wyboru. Natomiast rozumiem, ze nie mielismy wyboru w piwie skoro Carlsberg jest jednym ze sponsorow. |

1. Nie podaliście szacunkowiej liczby osób które odwiedziły festiwal w tym roku? Macie takie "dane"?
2. Totalnie nie wiedziałem że ulica idzie przez pole festiwalu i jesli nadal tam będzie festiwal to należałoby zamknąć ruch dla pojazdów na trochę dłuższej trasie niż w tym roku bo to jest niebezpieczne conajmniej. Co prawda część drogi sama się zamknęła siedzącymi tam ludźmi ale nadal zdarzały się momenty gdy ktoś idzie sobie z przyzwyczajenia drogą a tu nagle na czołówkę wyjeżdża mu auto i ktoś kto nie zwarza na nic. Teren festiwalu i okolica stała się przez to nieprzyjazna. |

Na ORF jeździmy z rzeszą przyjaciół i znajomych od 2006 roku, czujemy się niejako weteranami. Mimo niesamowitych magicznych doznań jakich dostarcza nam festiwal w kwestii muzycznej, niestety z roku na rok pojawiają się kolejne niepotrzebne błędy, które powodują, że pozytywny odbiór całego festiwalu jest zakłócony.
Apel do organizatorów, jeśli rzeczywiście chcą oni pełnić misję:
1. Nie chcemy babilońskich reklam
2. Nie chcemy babilońskiego cateringu (wyznacznikiem powinna się stać festiwalowa gastronomia z 10 edycji)
3. Żądamy powrotu Silverdreada - mistycznego prowadzącego, jedynego w swoim rodzaju, który budował wspólnotę i jedność ludzi, a bez którego to już nie ten sam festiwal.

Ja mam prośbę do organizatorów, byłem na Ostródzie już 6 raz i teskni mi się za stoiskami z jedzeniem z różnych źródeł, tak jak to było np. 2 lata temu, dlaczego wybieracie tylko jednego dostawcę skoro będzie wiadomo ze on i tak nie bedzie sie starał zaspokoic gusta ludzi a bedzie robil masowke. Jestem za powrotem kilku stoisk a nie jednego dostawcy ktory serwuje rozne rodzaje jedzenia. Chcialbym dodac ze po niedzielnych talarkach z 4 dniowego oleju mialem baaaaaardzo ciezki poniedzialek i zwiaznane z tym klopoty zoladkowe. Restaruacja COLUMB jest chyba najgorsza w ostrodzie i ma bardzo nieprzyjemna obsluge (w centrum miasta szczegolnie).
