Dubmatix (Jesse King) comes from a highly musical family, his father Bill King having worked with artists including the Pointer Sisters and Janis Joplin. Dubmatix performs all instruments on each of his releases including drums, guitar, bass, piano/keyboard, melodica, percussion. Growing up, he spent countless hours recording first on a 4-track reel-to-reel tape machine and later, one of the first 12-track digital home studio’s of the 80s. Recording rock, blues, acid, reggae and more – Dubmatix honed his musical skills for writing, arranging and recording. Whether it is his own material or outside projects, he has developed a unique signature sound and style that is immediately recognizable. Dubmatix has won numerous awards worldwide for dub, production and album. His collaborations include The Mighty Diamonds, Ranking Joe, Anthony B, Freddie McGregor, Luciano, Alton Ellis, Sugar Minott, Mykal Rose, Half Pint, Zion Train, Don Letts, Easy Star All-Stars and many more.
He has toured all the globe, being in constant demand of fans due to highly acclaimed releases. Dubmatix last “System Shakedown” album and its remixed follow-up “Clash of The Titans” shook the foundations of sound systems worldwide, spanning a musical range of rocksteady, dubstep, dub, roots, electro to future shock dub and drum’n'bass. UK based MC Tenja joins his live sets this year to properly present the newest album. "Rebel Massive", scheduled for April 2013, is full of collaborations with the top of the reggae world like U-Roy, Horace Andy, Eek-A-Mouse, Cornell Campbell, Luciano, Prince Jazzbo, Tenor Fly or Earl Zero.
Ostróda is happy to see him back after his first and only Polish show there in 2009.
“The biggest insipiration has always been the production style and instrumentation heard on much of the 70s and 80s reggae releases. I fell into the Electro-Dub sound by accident when I added a King Tubby sample I took from one of his tracks and put it on top of a House song I was working on at the time and it clicked.”
