Mayd Hubb’s music is a continuous search of space, a mystical experience in the depths of the underground. Constantly pushing the limits of styles, he creates his own recognizable sound. In this logic of expansion, contact with public soon became one of the essential point of his creativity. Contrasting with the intimacy of his solo studio work, his live performances reveal a breathtaking energy and run without compromise, accompanied by a massive live bass played by Zeuspi.
Mayd Hubb’s musical career started in India in 2007 with “Linga Yoni, The Dub Paradox”. Two years later he released another album „The Blue Train”. He toured USA, Canada, Europe, Mexico and became one of the top artists in the French dub scene. In 2011 Mayd’s band TelDem Com’unity (where he plays keys and sings) released well received “Ground Zero”album. He also worked with Shanti D (“Politik”) and Jarring Effects label („JFX 100” compilation). „Mellowmoon”(2012), his last album with Joe Pilgrim, is dedicated to the Moon. The duo tries to find a meaning to human existence drawing its inspiration in the heart of the satellite.
Born of Benin parents in France, Joe Pilgrim is one of the most active singers of the French reggae and sound system scene. His soulful, weeping and always full of passion voice sometimes bring associations to singers like Jacob Miller.
The latest release from Mayd Hubb’s studio is his remix EP with Full Dub, released in 2014 on ODGProd. Ostróda will be a first Polish stop in Mayd and Joe’s dub journey.
